Zero-Persistence, Client-Side Encrypted Ephemeral Messaging
True privacy means sacrificing history. ChuteChat was built for conversations that live in the moment—unrecorded, untracked, and meant only for the eyes of active participants. We believe private conversations should resemble real-life speech—ephemeral, unrecorded, and confined strictly to the participants involved.
Every layer of ChuteChat is designed around mathematical privacy guarantees rather than simple policy promises.
All message data is encrypted and decrypted in your browser using the Web Crypto API (`AES-GCM`). Plaintext never touches the network or server.
Our backend operates entirely in memory. Messages are routed between active WebSocket peers without ever being saved to a database or disk.
Conversations exist on a strict rolling limit. Sending a new message automatically purges older messages from the client state permanently.
ChuteChat does not require user registration, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords. We store no user profiles, maintain no activity logs, and track no IP addresses across sessions.
